Confrontation can be such an ugly word, right? The reality is that while it may be uncomfortable, it doesn't always have to be bad and it is completely necessary for our growth.
If you find yourself in a situation where you think you may need to confront a person or issue try the following:
1. Take a Breath
If you are able to walk away and take a breath, then do so. Trust me, you will thank yourself for it later. We usually make mistakes when react from our emotions. If you are able to walk away and take moment, then do so.
2. Think about the Situation
Is this an issue that you need to confront or should you keep your mouth shut? I find that if a situation is keeping me up at night, then I confront it for my sanity. It doesn't matter who the person is, there is always a respectful way to handle a situation.
3. Make A Decision
Don't get stuck in the thinking stage. Take action. Once again, that may be that you speak to someone directly, or you CHOOSE to walk away. If you find that it is better to keep your mouth shut, then do that and be okay with your decision.
